OUR PROCESS
The Melrose Method
A thoughtful approach to creating homes that feel as good as they look.
Beautiful homes begin with understanding.
Before anything is moved, purchased, or redesigned, I take the time to understand how your home works—how you use it, what's getting in the way, and what's already working well.
Often, what feels like a decorating problem isn't really about decorating at all. It's a room that doesn't support your daily routines, an area that never feels finished, or clutter that keeps finding its way back.
The Melrose Method looks beyond the surface to uncover why a space isn't working before recommending thoughtful, lasting solutions.
The result is a home that's both beautiful and functional—designed around the way you live.
How It Works
UNDERSTAND
Learn how you use your space, what's working, and what's getting in the way.
SIMPLIFY
Identify the changes that will have the greatest impact while making the most of what you already own.
DESIGN
Create a thoughtful plan tailored to your home, your lifestyle, and your budget.
REFINE
As your space comes together, make adjustments so it continues to support the way you live.
The Melrose Method
One of my favorite examples comes from my own home.
Every morning, my husband and I were sharing one bathroom while I was getting ready. The countertops were crowded, my makeup and hair tools had no permanent home, and there wasn't an outlet where I needed one. Meanwhile, an unused corner in our bedroom sat empty.
Instead of renovating the bathroom, I looked at the home as a whole.
Adding a vanity with built-in storage and electrical outlets to that unused bedroom corner solved several problems at once. It created a dedicated getting-ready space, cleared the bathroom counters, organized my everyday essentials, and made mornings easier for both of us.
That's the heart of the Melrose Method—finding thoughtful solutions that improve the way a home functions, often without requiring a major renovation.
